I feel extremely disappointed that the YES campaign did not challenge the entirely erroneous suggestion that under AV some peoples votes are counted more times than others. (This is untrue because if you vote for a popular party, and I vote for an unpopular one, then whilst my 2nd preference is being counted, your 1st preference vote is counted AGAIN - the only exception is if you vote for an unpopular party such as the BNP and fail to supply sufficient alternatives).

The Electoral Commission was happy to confirm this fact on their helpline, but I feel many people went to the ballot thinking that AV would undermine 1 Person 1 Vote.

Ester, you are not the only one! I did get a Labour leaflet as well as the Tory ones, but nothing at all from the Lib Dems and I too have tried to find out more of the Handbridge Ward candidates on this site but found nothing.

Alas, all may be too late: I am not a faithful party voter at local elections as I think personalities matter more and what they offer, so my potential vote may be lost (except for voting YES to AV!)

I am in the new Handbridge Park Ward in Chester. The only candidates we have had information from about the election tomorrow are the two Conservative candidates. I have this moring logged on to the CWAC website to find there are also two Lib Dem candidates. I know nothing about them but their names and think it unlikely I will get leaflets through the door today. I was hoping your website would be able to provide me with some information about the candidates but either I have failed to navigate your site well or you have no information about them. Disappointing. I appreciate the policy information I have found but I don't feel I am just voting for policies but also for an individual so I like to know something about them.
Thank you for your time

I am the campaign's co-ordinator setting up activities and phone-banks in Cheshire. The Yes to Fairer Votes campaign is in need of Liberal Democrats to create a buzz of activity throughout the country to make sure we get a Yes vote in May. If you are interested in volunteering today contacting voters, making a real difference and having some fun, please contact northwest@yestofairervotes.org.uk! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks - I suspect this is to do with the Polaroid plugin I'm using in Windows Live Writer to add image captions. I'll look into doing this another way - bit difficult because I can't replicate the error on my Windows machines.
